(04/05/17) There is a chance of Severe Weather for our area for Thursday. The National Weather Service has issued a weather briefing. We have a chance of heavy rain, high winds and severe thunderstorms. While we may have some rain water flooding due to slow drainage we are not in the tidal flooding area which is along the North Jersey coast. Residents are urged to monitor the weather throughout the day by local media or a weather app on your smart phone in case the weather turns severe. With the high winds you should take care to secure any property that could be blown by the wind. Items such as lawn chairs, trash cans, etc. can become damaging projectiles in heavy winds.   The latest briefing can be viewed here.    A new briefing will be issued at 5PM.  If you are reading this in an update email  then click on the same link as before.  If you are reading this on the Ready Website the NWS Emergency Managers Briefings are always available when issued and updated at the same link which is located on the left hand side list of links.
